Career Summary

The primary focus of this position will be to define and develop clear roadmaps for all of Parascript’s software products and applications.  The position will identify and qualify new markets and direct market research activities, domestically as well as internationally in forms processing, check processing, fraud prevention, mail processing and medical imaging.  The position will also have responsibility for developing capabilities, marketing plans and sales & staffing strategies to successfully develop existing and new markets.

This is a strategic position within Parascript requiring a careful balance between future vision, near term opportunities, customer requirements, business savvy and management of day to day product issues.  The position will develop, direct and implement plans and research projects to improve and expand the company’s strategic market position and to achieve growth and financial profitability.

Responsibilities
  • Study Parascript area of expertise, existing Parascript technologies, and gain understanding of how existing technologies can be applied / modified / further developed to address typical problems of the target markets.
  • Study target markets needs which can be potentially addressed by Parascript technology / expertise.
  • Establish close cooperation with Parascript sales force to leverage their expertise & contacts to analyze customer needs.
  • Identify technological gaps between the technologies that customers need and the current Parascript technologies, and work with R&D to evaluate the feasibility of bridging the gaps and identify the resources / timeframes necessary to do so.
  • Build business cases for new an/or enhanced products.
  • Prioritize new / enhanced product suggestions based on the revenue / profit potential, time to market, and feasibility of marketing plans.
  • Work with appropriate departments within the company to ensure that the product life cycle,( from identifying the new & potentially profitable idea & developing the product  to the time it takes to achieve adequate sales revenue from the product,) is  achieved in the shortest timeframe possible.
  • Systematically explore potential new channels and customers for existing Parascript technologies and products.
  • Analyze the problems which prevent system integrators / customers from utilizing Parascript products and develop a strategy to address these problems.
  • Establish and monitor metrics which quantify the success of the business development activity.
  • Technology transfer, licensing, partnership assessment and development
  • Distribution channel analysis and development
  • Communicate, liaise, and negotiate internally and externally using appropriate methods to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships
Qualifications and
Selection Criteria

This position requires a BS degree in a related technical discipline (or the equivalent certification/directly related work experience) plus a minimum of 3-5 years progressively responsible business development experience in a management/supervisory role working in a software product development environment as well as a software product marketing environment.

Knowledge of imaging technology and pattern recognition as well as knowledge of check/forms/mail processing, fraud prevention and document management preferred.  

In addition, the successful candidate would bring:

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Ability to interact with R&D staff to develop application solutions
  • Experience with international, multi-lingual R&D staff a plus
  • Ability to listen to customer needs and analyze market dynamics to actively prioritize and set product direction.    
  • Ability to travel domestically as well as internationally
  • Strong customer service, sales and leadership skills
