Bill Pearlman was first president and CEO of Parascript when the company was started (from 1996 through 2000) and has since served on Parascript’s board. Bill Pearlman was one of the founders of Astarte, Inc., a venture capital company business incubator. Astarte, Inc. was very successful in starting up and growing a variety of businesses in the fields of agriculture, chemistry, telecommunications, fiber optic networks, pattern recognition and image analysis. He acted as president and CEO of Astarte, Inc., as well as each of its new start-up companies in their infancy, before turning them over to executives to take them to the next level of growth and success. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the Ohio State University College of Law.
Dr. Alexander Filatov—President and CTO
Dr. Alexander Filatov has been with Parascript since it was founded in 1996. His 20 years of research and development expertise in the fields of pattern recognition, image processing and artificial intelligence have proven invaluable in his leadership of the product development and engineering teams.
Prior to 1996, Dr. Filatov was a key member of the management team at ParaGraph International, known for its handwriting recognition technology used by Apple and Microsoft. Dr. Filatov received his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the Moscow State Technical University and earned his masters degree in Applied Mathematics from the Moscow Institute of Oil and Gas.
Dr. Ilia Lossev—Chief Scientist and Vice President, Advanced R&D
Dr. Lossev has over 28 years of research and development expertise in the fields of pattern recognition, computer vision and applying artificial intelligence technologies to real-world problems. As chief scientist and vice president at Parascript, Dr. Lossev is responsible for advanced research and development. Prior to Parascript, he worked for ParaGraph International, Silicon Graphics and Vadem.
Dr. Lossev holds a Ph.D. in Mathematical Biophysics from the Institute of Biophysics of the USSR Academy of Science. His M.S. in Mathematics is from the Moscow State University.
Dwayne Ritchie—Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing
With over 20 years’ experience in the enterprise software market, Mr. Ritchie is responsible for developing and executing the worldwide Sales and Marketing strategy for Parascript. This responsibility also includes architecting a best-of-breed Channel Partner Program as well as overseeing Presales Engineering, Professional Services and Customer Support for Parascript.
Prior to joining Parascript, Mr. Ritchie held various senior level sales and sales management positions at Kofax, CorasWorks, OpenText, and Hummingbird Corporation. Prior to those, he demonstrated his entrepreneurial spirit and leadership skills launching a successful business venture, securing series A funding, and negotiating the sale to a Fortune 1000 company. His career has always been focused on developing sales successes, which includes fostering relationships with industry influencers and building strategic alliances and partnerships.
Paula Barton—Senior Vice President, Human Resources
Ms. Barton brings more than 30 years of human resources administration and management to Parascript. She provides leadership in all aspects of human resources management as it relates to Parascript’s people and people-related processes and culture on a global basis. Her areas of responsibility include attracting, engaging, rewarding and retaining top talent, policy and procedure development and implementation, performance management, compensation planning, benefit plans, and corporate compliance with appropriate legal and regulatory requirements.
Prior to joining Parascript, Ms. Barton served as vice president of human resources for Astarte, Inc., which formed the Russian-based company ParaGraph International and later spun off Parascript as its own entity. She also held the position of senior human resources representative for Storagetek, where she helped the company meet heavy recruiting requirements for highly technical personnel.
Igor Kil—Senior Vice President, Research and Development
Mr. Kil has been working at Parascript, LLC since its founding in 1996. In his role as Senior Vice President, Research and Development, he oversees the company’s product development and engineering teams.
Mr. Kil’s more than 20 years of research and development expertise in the fields of pattern recognition, image processing and artificial intelligence have made him one of the key members of Parascript’s management and development teams.
Prior to joining Parascript, Mr. Kil worked for ParaGraph International, developing handwriting recognition technology used by Apple and Microsoft. He was also the head of the Department of Telecommunications in the Joint Venture “UNITEX” (Moscow State University), and a head of Laboratory of Telecommunications in the Scientific research Institute ASUGAZPROM (today GAZPROM automation). Mr. Kil earned his master’s degree in Applied Mathematics from the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas.
Mike Fenton—Vice President, International Sales
Mr. Fenton has more than 25 years of experience in the industry with a focus in banking and finance. Mr. Fenton is responsible for International Sales at Parascript. Since joining Parascript, Mr. Fenton has increased Parascript’s revenues three-fold in the banking and finance market, making the sector the company’s second-highest revenue stream.
Prior to joining Parascript, Mr. Fenton held management positions in sales, marketing and business development for Unisys, NCR Corporation and Recognition International (now BancTec). His MBA is from Syracuse University and he earned his BA in Banking and Finance from the University of Rangoon, Burma.
Kaz Jaszczak—Vice President, Postal Automation
Mr. Jaszczak has more than 35 years of experience in research, product management and business development in imaging, document management, signal processing, voice and optical character recognition software. As Vice President-Postal Automation for Parascript, he oversees the company’s government postal and commercial mail business units for domestic and international markets. Prior to joining Parascript in 2000, Mr. Jaszczak held various product and business development positions with InterVoice Inc., GTESS Co., Fischer Imaging Co. and University of Warsaw, Poland.
Mr. Jaszczak – who holds an M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Technical University of Warsaw, Poland – has authored several articles for international publications as well as a textbook in digital signal processing. He is a member of IEEE and frequently speaks at various postal forums, including Post Expo, National Postal Forum and Mailcom.
Alexander Volgunin—Vice President, Forms Processing
As Parascript’s Vice President, Form Processing, Mr. Volgunin is responsible for development and support of form processing and address recognition software. Since joining Parascript in 1996, he has managed a myriad of programs and products.
Mr. Volgunin – an expert in project management, software development, and agile methods – has more than 20 years of experience in the field. He has a strong record of delivering mission-critical projects on-time and under budget. Before joining Parascript, he was a software engineer at ParaGraph International. Mr. Volgunin earned an MBA from the University of Colorado and a Master of Science degree in applied math and physics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
Tanya Ulanova—Vice President, Head of Moscow Representative Office
Ms. Ulanova has more than 30 years of experience in the field of data management for diverse pattern recognition. Ms. Ulanova, who has been with Parascript since 1996, was primarily responsible for creating the company’s Data Management Division. She is currently head of the company’s Moscow representative office.
In her role, Ms. Ulanova fosters greater teamwork and performance by coordinating Parascript’s administrative policies and procedures between the company’s Moscow representative office and corporate headquarters. She also oversees budget development and control of the company’s representative office, and establishes relationships and contacts with Parascript partners in Russia and ex-USSR countries.
Prior to joining Parascript, Ms. Ulanova honed her data management skills at ParaGraph International and JV ParaGraph. She holds an M.S. degree in Applied Mathematics from the Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU), Department of Applied Mathematics and Cybernetics, where she specialized in artificial intelligence.
