Technology
OCR, ICR, and cursive
Parascript engines are capable of OCR, ICR, and cursive recognition.
Document structure analysis
Parascript engines analyze the entire document to identify text, tables, and other page characteristics to identify and classify the type of document.
Region of interest location
Parascript’s image analysis technology can locate a region of interest, such as a designation address on a mail piece, and then successfully differentiate between that region and other elements on the image to ensure high recognition rates and accuracy. This can be used to identify address location on parcels, or areas of suspicion on mammograms.
Automatic indicia location and detection
Parascript image analysis technology can identify a logo or indicia, including indicia values, to help classify a document or prevent fraud.
Template based image analysis
This technique is used to automatically determine whether or not a scanned document matches a predefined template for processing. This could include background analysis to validate check stock.
Content recognition
The Parascript engine will use word spotting or pattern spotting to aid in identification and classification of the document.
Voting technology
Parascript technology effectively looks at a document from multiple angles. Once each recognition engine has reviewed and scored the data, a “committee” weights the outcomes, giving consideration to the unique characteristics of each engine.
